After college, Laura Barnes drifted from her athletic background. Realizing that she was unhappy and knowing she was no longer the strong individual she once was, Laura felt she was missing a part of her identity and committed to a lifestyle change.
?I wanted to be my best every hour of the day,? Laura said.
Laura changed her diet, joined the Tacoma Center YMCA, and began getting up regularly at 4am to start her day with a workout. The community at the Y was a big part of her success; providing the accountability, welcoming environment, and positive support needed for Laura to meet her goals.
Laura has lost 35 pounds since joining in August and is a positive role model to her Annie Wright Schools kindergarten class.
