Goofy Smiles at Winter Day Camp At The YMCA

No School? No Problem!

Bring your kids to the Y over winter break for fun, games, and physical activity in a safe environment! Kids will spend time with friends and caring staff engaged in fun and inclusive activities to stay active over the long break. Campers will explore arts and crafts, group games, and team challenges!

Keeping children safe is the Y's highest priority. All staff are screened and trained extensively in child safety and youth development. COVID-19 health screening and cleaning protocols are aligned with Pierce County Health Department, Washington State Department of Health, and Centers for Disease Control.

Benefits of Winter Break Camp at the Y

Broaden Their Horizons

Instead of leaving the child to their own devices over winter break, day camp at the Y offers a way for them to maintain structure that they will need to pick up again when school starts. Although physical recreation is a focus, the Y offers a host of educational activities, including art, nature discovery, and more to spark their curiosity and imagination.

Benefits Beyond the Break

Children develop and grow in situations where they must learn to use their voices and advocate for themselves. Allowing your child to learn and grow in a safe space without your direct supervision is especially important to help them develop autonomy, forge independent decision-making skills, and grow their ability to adapt to new situations. Camp is an excellent opportunity for them to flex their social muscles and develop new skills while you have the peace of mind that they are taken care of by experienced and reliable adults.

Confidence and New Friendships

Children want to stay connected to their friends and participate in social-emotional activities during winter break. At the Y, all our camp activities are based on character development values so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your camper is enjoying enrichment activities under the watchful eyes of trained YMCA counselors. Your camper will make new friends, gain confidence, and expand their horizons. A great way to spend their time off!
