Membership Resources and FAQ

MY MEMBERSHIP IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD BUT I’M READY TO REACTIVATE. WHAT ARE MY NEXT STEPS?

We are thrilled to welcome you back! Please visit your local Y to get started today or let us know when you’d like to activate online.

WE ARE EXPERIENCING SOME FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES THIS SEASON. DOES THE Y OFFER ANY SUPPORT?

We never want cost to be a reason you’re not able to receive the benefits of a Y membership. Scholarships help remove the financial barriers to accessing YMCA community centers, programs, and services.

Scholarships are provided based on household income and special circumstances. Please complete an application online and a Y staff member will contact you soon.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE MEMBERSHIPS?

Yes. We are grateful to offer two membership opportunities covered by insurance. These include Silver&Fit® Premium Network and Renew Active Healthy Aging and Exercise Program. You can learn more about current insurance provider partnerships or by contacting your insurance provider.

GUESTS AND NATIONWIDE RECIPROCITY

Try the Y as a Guest

We would love you to try the Y! Learn more about rates and sign your waiver online.

Visit a Y around the Country

Our Y is part of Nationwide Reciprocity, which means we welcome Y members from out of the area to use our facilities as a Y member. We also encourage our Y members to visit Y's while you're traveling outside your county and request access to use the Y at no additional cost through Nationwide Reciprocity.

Can I access programs while I’m on hold?

While your membership is on hold, you are unable to use the center. We’re excited to share that you are able to access YMCA360, your very own virtual Y offering a variety of online content.

Can I place one individual from my household on a freeze?

Freezes cover your entire household. Suppose an individual in the household would like their membership frozen and keep the others active. In that case, we will temporarily cancel the individual and waive the join fee upon returning to the Y per the length of the original request which is not to exceed three months.

When do membership changes need to be made?

Requests for account holds or cancellations must be communicated to the Y by the 25th of the month. For example, if you would like to place a hold on your membership for the month of March, you would need to submit the request no later than February 25th. Membership dues are collected either on the 5th or 20th of the month and cover the 1st through the end of the month

I have a membership with Another Y association, am I able to use YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties' programs and child watch?

We love that you’re visiting from another association! The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties participates in Nationwide Reciprocity. If your home association is affiliated with this program, you have signed a waiver, and are a member in good standing with your association, you can access our centers and amenities including group exercise classes. Nationwide members are not eligible to register for programs such as swim lessons, dance, arts, or skills and drills. Nationwide members can register for Sports Leagues or other programs we offer at the community rate. Nationwide members will be charged the community rate as they are not ‘active’ in the Pierce and Kitsap County Association. Insurance-based memberships are not eligible for Nationwide Reciprocity. Nationwide members can utilize Child Watch at the daily rate of $15.

What do I do if I am out of town or not planning to use the Y for a short time?

You’re welcome to put your membership on hold for three months per calendar year. This can be done in one-month increments beginning on the first of the month. There is a $10 per month.
