Komarov Family

The Komarov family left their homeland under great distress and came to America to begin a new life. With no money, a language barrier and no social network, the family felt desperate.

Fortunately, they met another family at church who spoke their language. They were invited to live with the family and were invited to join the Y, where they were given a free membership because of their circumstances.

Since joining the Y the Komarovs have been able to get in better shape physically, make new friends, and practice their new English language skills.

“The Y gives us a place to have family sport time, and our five-year-old is learning to swim,” said Viktoria. The Komarovs are grateful for a safe place to belong and are gaining success as they acclimate to their new home in America.
