Just over a year ago, Heather ?Hardcore? Kerr was suffering from anxiety, a lack of self-confidence, and was tired of thinking her life would be forever synonymous with being bedridden and ill. It only took her a couple months after joining the Y to transform from being shy, fearful of water, and unable to even pull herself out of the pool into a confident, strong class mentor who now proudly boasts one of the ?biggest mouths in class.?
Now 60 pounds lighter, and the happiest she has been in years, Heather directly accredits her new-found, positive outlook to the support she received in her aquatics class.
?They are always there for you when you are feeling down and it definitely starts with our instructor, Dee,? said Heather. ?I have never been supported as much in my fitness journey as I am here. It?s not just a class - it?s a family.?
