Tacoma Center YMCA
Looking for a change of scenery, David moved from Miami, Florida to the Pacific Northwest. Tired of the partying and the emphasis on personal status, David was more interested in discovering himself, especially getting a chance to experience the outdoors of Washington’s natural habitat.
“I was looking for a place that was more down to earth,” said David. He happily traded palm trees and humidity for fresh air and a slower paced lifestyle.
Not soon after, David found himself touring the Tacoma Center YMCA, knowing the great communal-approach the Y was known for.
“I know I wanted to continue working out and being strong,” says David. “When I am older someday, it’s important to me to be physically fit so I can stay on top of things.”
David initially was looking for a place to lift weights, but quickly found the community he knew the Y was known for in the basketball court.
“The YMCA has a real personal, home-y feel,” said David. “I know I made the right decision.”
