Fall Sunday Hours

The Haselwood YMCA returns to its regular Sunday operational hours.  OPEN SUNDAYS  |  8AM-8PM THROUGH MONDAY, MAY 30...

We still have a few spots available for this season of NFL FLAG Football - a couple spots in the ages 6-8 division, and about a handful of spots in the 9-11 division. Register online: http://bit.ly/1J65zFQ

We also had a couple spots open up for our t-ball league, which is ages 3-5 years old. Register your child here: http://bit.ly/1LhFO5Q

Registration closes tomorrow so hurry and ensure your child is a part of the game!

Summer is just about here! We welcome the sun-and your visitors.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with our guest pass policy before bringing your friends and family in to see us.

As a reminder, all guests under 18 years of age must have a waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian on file prior to using our facility. Forms are available on our website. Looking forward to a great summer! http://bit.ly/1JYMfZR

"A Farewell to Arms."
From time to time, the question arises, "What's the Y's policy on weapons in the facility?"

Because of the nature of our work, especially our youth programs, weapons (knives, brass knuckles, guns, etc.) are prohibited in our facilities. If you arrive at the Y in possession of one of the aforementioned items, please alert the Manager on Duty, who will be happy to help you store in our lock box while you exercise.

Thank you for helping us create a safe environment for all!

Help your child be a part of a summer tradition. Summer Day Camp at the Y is a great way to connect and have fun. Register online at ymcapkc.org/summer

#tbt We love this sweet image from the archives at the YMCA of San Francisco.

Together we build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.

Well done, graduates! We salute you.

A Safety Soundbite from our Risk Manager:

Hold the Phone. Just a gentle reminder that the use of mobile devices and cameras is restricted in our locker rooms as a safety measure to protect your privacy and the safety of our kids.

Also, as a courtesy to your fellow members, please refrain from taking personal phone calls while using exercise equipment. It's a little awkward and can be a distraction. Thank you!

Our Safety and Risk Manager shares some safety soundbites in honor of National Safety Month.

First on the list- Beat that heat! Maintain your health during the rising temperatures:
1.) Drink a quart of fluids per hour.
2.) Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which can speed dehydration.
3.) Take it easy- limit your time directly in the sun, and remember not to overexert yourself.
4.) Never leave children or pets alone in the car, even for a minute.
5. Wear sunscreen!

Stay tuned for more safety soundbites throughout the month.

#tbt The Y has been making waves in water safety for over a hundred years. The nation's first "swimming bath" was housed in a New York YMCA in 1884. Just 24 years later, the first group swimming lesson occurred at a YMCA in Detroit.

Last year, the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties alone collectively taught more than 74,268 swim lessons!

Calling all Sounders fans! YMCA members are eligible for discounted Seattle Sounders tickets during their 4th Annual YMCA Nights. Use the code on the image to reserve your tickets. Just another perk of being in the Y family!

HASELWOOD Family Y ID AND GUEST PolicY

100% ID CHECK ALWAYS IN EFFECT
In order to better protect our members, guests, and staff, all visitors *14 years of age and older are required to show a valid, government-issued ID.

This policy helps us account for all people in the facility, making the YMCA a safer place for all in attendance. Community members who intend to visit the facility on a regular basis can elect to have their picture taken and stored in our database in lieu of showing picture ID during subsequent visits, but all first-time guests MUST present ID to enter the facility.

GUEST POLICY AND WAIVER
Community members and guests wishing to visit the facility are required to sign our guest waiver before entering the facility. Additionally, all minors entering the facility must have their guest waivers signed by a parent or guardian.

*Visitors not old enough to obtain a driver's license or learner's permit may present an ASB or other accredited student council ID card for entrance.

youth recreational swim checks

The Haselwood Family YMCA employs a youth swim check practice, which allows our lifeguards and aquatic staff to quickly and accurately determine each youth's swim level. The tiered levels are color-coded to a corresponding band color - red, yellow, or green - and determine into what areas of the aquatic center each swimmer can go.

Youth will have their swim level checked upon their first visit to the facility and the band must be worn at all times while in the aquatic center unless the child is participating in a YMCA group swim lesson.

More Info Button

This practice applies to all youth recreational swimmers regardless whether the child is a community member, YMCA member, or YMCA swim lesson participant.
