Child Watch

In our Child Watch programs, babies develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age children make friends, learn new skills, and do homework.

*Please tell our Welcome Center staff if this is your first time using our Child Watch facility so they may set up your children in our database. 

Child Watch Hours

Child Watch Hours:

Monday - Friday: 8am-1pm; 4-8pm

Saturday: 8am-4pm

Sunday: 12-3pm

Child Watch Rates

  • $35 per family per month - 2 hours of total use per day
  • $50 per family per month - 3 hours of total use per day
  • $8 per visit for 2 hours of use in a single day
Rates include all children 6 weeks-7 years old in a family household. A household is defined as two adults and their dependents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does financial assistance apply?
Financial Assistance does not apply to our child watch fees. Similiar to our former pricing structure, this is an elective service and not an included service.

Do Department of Defense members still have nursery privileges?
Yes. Child watch privilieges will be extended to those families who are enrolled in this program.

How do I pay for the child watch fees now?
The monthly fees will be added to your YMCA membership automatic payment or you may pay $8 per day prior to nursery use.

Can I use any YMCA child watch?
Yes! As of Monday, October 26, 2016, you may use any YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties Child Watch with your same login and monthly payment.

Do I get two hours at each branch of the Y?
No, Child Watch use is limited to two hours total for the day, regardless of the location(s) at which it is used.

If I bring my children at different times, do I get two hours of use for each of my children?
This payment structure is for the family household. Members may split their time between children, but must still stay within the daily limit for the household.
