Having Fun With Dodgeball

Summer camp is back, and we have a place for everyone! Now is the time to register your child for healthy fun, friendship and new experiences. Camps open June 28 in most places. There’s lots of room for fun with our many locations and programs, including options for campers from ages 5 to 13.

Register now for any of the week-long camps, or sign up for every week through summer. You can choose from programs in four different settings.

At your local Y: Day camp at a Y facility includes group games, swimming, arts and crafts, sports and fitness with lots of new friends. Half-day sessions are open for ages 3-4 and full-day camp is open for ages 5-12.

At a local school: Fun with friends is the lesson plan for day camp at select public schools in Pierce and Kitsap counties. Campers participate in outdoor games, art projects, fitness activities and STEM projects. Hours are about 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; exact times vary by district.

At Lake Helena: Canoeing, kayaking, archery, crafts and games are offered during day camp at Lake Helena, near Port Orchard. Age-appropriate sessions are open to kids entering grades 1-8.

At Summer Learning Academy: This four-week, free, activity-packed program for grades 6-8 combines field trips, recreation, memorable learning projects and visits to Y facilities. Our academy staff partners with Tacoma Public Schools teachers. Choose from four Tacoma middle school locations.

Y membership is not required to participate in our day camps. Scholarships are available to Y members thanks to generous donors, so as many children as possible can enjoy camp.

Consider giving your child a chance to play, gain new skills and grow friendships during our day camps.
