Turf Fields Designed for Year-Round Play
The Gig Harbor Sports Fields feature two lit synthetic turf fields designed for soccer, football, lacrosse, t-ball, ultimate frisbee, and more. The synthetic turf and field lights allow for year-round play and evening use, which means more outdoor opportunities for kids to play.
Teams, clubs, organizations, and individuals can reserve the fields for private use. They are prioritized for sports leagues usage on a quarterly basis, and are open to the public during non-reserved times.
The fields have their own dedicated parking lot with 100 stalls and feature a concession stand and restrooms – located at the Doris Heritage Park next door.
The Gig Harbor Sports Fields were made in collaboration with the City of Gig Harbor and are part of the larger Gig Harbor Sports Complex near the Tom Taylor Family YMCA.

View Seasonal Application Deadlines
The fields are prioritized for sports league usage on a quarterly basis. Groups will be placed on the calendar 10-14 days after applications close. Fields are available for public use during non-reserved times. Refer to the calendar to view availability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Operating hours for the fields are 7am to 10pm on weekdays, 7am to 6pm on Saturdays, and 8am to 4pm on Sundays. The public can use the fields during non-reserved times.
The fields can be used for football, soccer, lacrosse, little league T-ball, ultimate frisbee, and modified rugby (the fields are narrower than regulation size rugby fields). Lacrosse lines are a hybrid of men’s and women’s regulations.
The following groups can apply to reserve the fields on a quarterly basis:
- Non-profit community youth organizations and social activity providers in the Greater Gig Harbor Community
- Non-profit community adult organizations that are geographically located in the Greater Gig Harbor community
- Non-profit agencies from nearby communities such as South Kitsap and Tacoma
You do not need to be a YMCA member to use the fields.
Yes, a Certificate of Insurance naming the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties as an additional insured is required prior to rental. The certificate shall indicate a minimum commercial general liability of $1 million per occurrence, $2 million aggregate, and a $50,000 fire liability damage limit.
Yes, if they are both available.
We have soccer goals in several sizes and lacrosse goals. These are included in the rental. Rental groups will set up their own fields.
