As a Y family, our hearts and prayers are with the family of George Floyd and all those deeply impacted by his murder. While we acknowledge the verdict brought accountability in this case, our work to create an equitable community continues. We recognize this verdict does not detract from all those who have suffered, been harmed, or even killed at the hands of police violence.

We are committed to creating strong infrastructures for under-resourced, underserved, and underrepresented populations, and creating equitable and sustainable environments through our programs and services.

At the Y, we believe that, in a diverse world, we are stronger when we are inclusive, when our doors are open to all, and when everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. If you'd like to connect with us regarding opportunities to advance equity in our community, please contact our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team at dei@ymcapkc.org.
