On May 3, the YMCA held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Gig Harbor Sports Fields near the Tom Taylor Family YMCA. In the weeks since then, work on the Gig Harbor Sports Fields has officially begun, with tree clearing completed and site grubbing, as seen in the aerial photos taken on June 6. Heavy machinery began dirt work to level the site, as seen in the on-the-ground photos taken on June 8.
Also pictured is the Doris Heritage Park (Phase 1B), for which the City hosted a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Monday, June 16.
