Priority Registration Pilot
Learn how to become eligible for a new priority registration pilot coming to select YMCA locations this fall.
The priority registration pilot starts on Fall 1 at the Bremerton Family YMCA, Mel Korum Family YMCA in Puyallup, and Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner for swim lessons and gymnastics classes.
Attend every class in your Fall 1 session, and you’ll secure a spot in one swim lesson and/or one gymnastics class, regardless of how many swim or gymnastics classes you are currently enrolled in.
After completing your final class of the session, visit our Priority Registration table at the Welcome Center to enroll in Fall 2 before registration opens for all members.
You may use priority registration to enroll in the same class day and time as your current class or choose a class that starts earlier than your current class time.
If you'd like to register for a later class time or switch to a different day, you'll need to wait until the day after that registration group opens to see what spots remain available.
Example: If your child is currently enrolled in a Monday 4pm class and you'd like to switch to a Tuesday 6:20pm class, you can visit the Y on Wednesday to view and register for any available Tuesday class options.
Registration will only be available immediately following your class or during designated class times.
Check out our Priority Registration FAQ for more information about eligibility and how the process works.
Steps to Complete Before Registration Day
Prepare for registration by completing these steps in advance.
Step 1 – Check your account status
Confirm in advance that the email used to login to your MyCommunity account is the same address that is attached to your membership. Opening a new account under a separate email will create registration challenges. Contact membership@ymcapkc.org for support with your My Community account.
Step 2 – Check your membership status
Verify your child’s membership status in MyCommunity a few days before registration.
For parent and child classes (swim lessons and toddler gym) both the child and the participating parent/guardian need an active membership.
Step 3 – Update and save payment information
Any outstanding balance on your account must be paid before you can register for programs. If a balance appears, please make a payment online or visit your local Y.
Having a valid payment method saved and ready before registration opens helps you complete checkout faster and secure your spot.
Step 4 - Know Your Registration Group
Registration has been updated to provide a smoother experience. To find your YMCA community center’s registration group and enrollment time
Step 5 - Review Classes Early. Registration is first come, first served
Review available programs in advance and have backup options in mind for popular classes that may fill quickly. You may need to place your children in different time slots if not enough space is available to take a program together. You can view all programs ahead of time at ymcapkc.org/register.
Step 6 – Mark your calendar
View registration dates and details at ymcapkc.org/register. use the "Save the Date" button to set a reminder so you don't miss your registration window.
Tips for a Successful Registration Day
Find helpful tips to secure your spot in YMCA programs on registration day.
You have 10 minutes to complete checkout. Your spot is held only until the timer ends - if it runs out, your cart clears, and the spot is released.
Please complete your registration in a single tab. Opening multiple tabs can cause your timer to expire and clear your cart.
Adding a class to your cart holds a spot temporarily. Your registration is not secured until checkout is successfully completed, and you receive confirmation.
Once registration has closed, please log in to your MyCommunity Account to check your registration status. After you log in, click on the ‘My Enrollments’ tile to view your classes.
- "Pending Active" indicates you are enrolled in the class.
- Waitlist indicates your child is currently on the waitlist for that class.
Use a stable internet connection and an updated browser for the best registration experience.
If you're registering multiple youth from your household for the same class, day, and time, you can add multiple youth profiles to one registration when selecting participants.
If a class is full, please join the wait list. If a class shows “1 or more spots remaining” but you are prompted to join the waitlist, the class is currently full. Please add the participant to the waitlist, as available spots are filled from this list.
Program directors monitor registrations and will move participants into the class as spots become available. You will receive an email within 8 days of the session starting if you or your child is enrolled in the class from the waitlist.
Joining a waitlist does not guarantee enrollment, but it gives you the opportunity should spots become available.
Even if you see that there are spots available, this means there are members in front of you who are eligible for the open spot(s) for the program.
