The Y provides a unique way to turn your passion for fitness into something more. We're rolling out a first-of-its-kind opportunity this summer, welcoming community members across the Puget Sound to learn about becoming a group exercise instructor! Find fitness roles at 9 of our community center locations

Events are held at Lakewood Family YMCA and Tom Taylor Family YMCA on August 9, 2025.
 
We are hiring for the following YMCA community centers: 

  • Bremerton Family YMCA 
  • Gordon Family YMCA (Sumner, WA) 
  • Haselwood Family YMCA (Silverdale, WA) 
  • Lakewood Family YMCA 
  • Mel Korum Family YMCA (Puyallup, WA) 
  • Pearl Street Family YMCA (Tacoma, WA) 
  • Tacoma Center YMCA 
  • Tom Taylor Family YMCA (Gig Harbor, WA) 
  • University YMCA Student Center (Tacoma, WA) 

 

Whether you’re a seasoned instructor or just curious about starting your journey, we’ve got a spot for you at the Y! Think Pilates, yoga, cycling, Zumba, bootcamp, if you can dream it, you can teach it here!

Sample Itinerary 

  • Arrive 
  • 30 min | Welcome to the Y, introduction to directors  
  • 1.5 hrs | Break off and start auditions by format (yoga, strength and toning, high impact, etc.) Participants are welcome to attend group auditions and participate as the audience. 

Auditions can be 2-3 minutes up to 6-8 minutes based on group size. Please come prepared with a short demo.
