CIT Program Levels

 

CIT 1

 

Requires a minimum commitment of 2 weeks and includes mandatory pre-summer training.

CIT 2

 

Involves more leadership responsibilities and training, a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, and an application process. One year of CIT experience is necessary to apply for CIT2. 

 
Slime Science Experiment at YMCA Summer Day Camp

 

Expand your skillset and boost your resume this summer by joining our CIT crew! Team up with high school-aged folks from around your community to lead the next generation of Y kids. You will gain invaluable experience in youth development, mentorship, and community impact, and learn ways to lead and succeed within the YMCA. Many lifeguards and youth directors started their careers at the Y as a Counselor in Training!

A Day in the Life: 

  • Morning huddle with your director and other CITs. 
  • Give a big, cheerful welcome to all our campers and help them find their groups. 
  • Dive into group games and activities that will have everyone active and connecting in no time!  
  • Refuel with lunch. 
  • Get ready to showcase your creativity and talents by helping support a camptivity! 
  • Help make camper pick-up a breeze.
