Youth Sports at the Y is about helping kids grow in confidence, teamwork, and character. Our volunteer coaches are the heart of the game, creating a culture that is supportive, welcoming, and inclusive. Coaches serve as mentors to youth, encouraging every kid that they have what it takes to show up, to play, and to have fun! Every kid deserves someone who believes in them.

Anyone with a passion for making an impact on youth can be a coach. No prior experience is required! Our staff is always available to help, and you’ll gain access to resources and best practices to set you up for a fun, rewarding season as a coach.

You’ll build a team culture where every child feels supported, and you’ll have fun doing it! Coaching at the Y is simple, meaningful, and flexible:

  • Just 2 hours per week: one practice and one game
  • Short seasons: 8 practices and 6 games over 8 weeks
  • Commit to one season at a time
  • Co-coach with a friend if you’d like to share the experience
  • Communicate with families and foster teamwork, safety, and sportsmanship
