May is National Water Safety Month! With 945 miles of shoreline in Pierce and Kitsap Counties, the Y is committed to reducing youth drowning deaths.

When near water, always follow these four rules to ensure that everyone can enjoy the water safely:

1) Never leave children unattended near any body of water.
2) Always designate an adult to supervise children. That person should never be on their phone or otherwise distracted.
3) Inexperienced swimmers should always wear a life jacket near the water.
4) Never engage in breath-holding activities.

Late Registration for our Spring 2 Session begins at 5pm today. Sign up for classes at ymcapkc.org/register.

Give your kids the best summer ever! Summer camp at the Y runs from June 15-August 28. Choose from partial day, full day, and overnight camp options. Registration is open. Learn more and register at summer.ymcapkc.org

Questions? Contact Matt Van Eaton at 253-460-8919.

Congratulations, Reynaldo Carranza! You are the winner of a free, three-month membership as a thank you for filling out our recent member survey. Thank you for sharing your comments and suggestions for how we can serve you better.

Our Senior Youth Director Kyle Eggenberger is leaving Lakewood to help open the new Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner. We wish him all the best, but first we had to pummel him with dodgeballs.

There's now an easier way to see what classes you're signed up for. Login to your account at ymcapkc.org, where you can view your family's classes anytime, anywhere.

Upgrade your workout! Download the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties' mobile app for Android or iPhone to access schedules, facility notifications, operating hours, events, and more. You can even add events straight to your calendar or forward on to a friend!

Community Prayer Time is every Wednesday from 1:30-2pm. Everyone is welcome!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
- Philippians 4:6

Hey Morgan Family YMCA, look who we found working out here at Lakewood! The one and only Heather Norris!

Thanks to a grant from the YMCA of the USA’s Strategic Initiatives Fund, all new and increased gifts to the Send a Kid to Camp Campaign will be doubled with a matching gift with up to a total of $15,000. Donate before May 1 to have your gift doubled!

The funds raised though this matching gift will help provide an additional 60 full scholarship to new campers for a first-time camp experience.
