YMCA Center for Community Impact
Having never been away from her family for two weeks, Yusley was nervous to go to YMCA Camp Seymour. However, by the middle of her first week she had become best friends with her crew. There were activities she enjoyed and new ones that she was encouraged to try. She learned from the speakers to not let anyone tell her she couldn't do something. "I am learning how to use my passion to do what I am good at," she said.
Yusley is also a participant of YMCA Eagle Center at First Creek Middle School, which provides before and after school enrichment and mentoring programs.
"It's nice to hear that everyone at the YMCA believes that young people can go for their dreams," said Yusley. She would love all of her friends to have the opportunity to attend camp and hopes to work at camp when she's older.
"Thank you Mrs. Fahren for choosing me to go, and thank you Camp Seymour for giving me the best two weeks of my summer," said Yusley. "I will never forget it."
