Vera's journey toward healthy living started in 2006 when she decided she needed to start taking care of her body. She changed her eating habits, drank more water, and started walking.
"When you weigh 370 pounds and you feel like your life has gone nowhere it is hard to get motivated," Vera said.
At the Y, Vera found a friend who inspires and encourages her to keep going.
"Today I am 220 pounds and feel fabulous!" said Vera. Vera is working on losing 60 more pounds, and she hopes to be an inspiration for others.
