After hearing about the Y at school, Latravion "Tra" Satterwhite came to Teen Late Nite. Endorsing the idea, his mother thought it would help keep him off the streets. About a year later, Tra's mother passed away leaving him with an emotional void. He moved in with his grandparents and found much needed refuge at the Y.

"It just makes me feel warm to be here," he said.

The Y has provided Tra with friendships, basketball, piano lessons and positive influences. Caring adults stepped up to help him transition into adulthood.

"The staff  have taught me so much," said Tra. "If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be where I am today."
