Shilo began her journey at the YMCA in fall 2010 after experiencing frustration over her lack of results in fitness. Having a bad knee limited her options for exercise and she felt that the pool at the Bremerton Family YMCA would allow her the workout she was looking for. After her dedication to her exercise routine and a strict diet, where she measured food carefully, Shilo began to see results.
"In the last 18 months, adhering to my strict diet and exercising regularly, I have lost 90 pounds, weighing in at 176," says Shilo.
Shilo credits two YMCA staff members for helping her to reach her goals. Kerry helped her with her workout in the water and Jennifer "took the time to learn my name, and always has a minute for good conversation and encouragement."
