Dating can be scary. Getting dressed up on a Saturday evening, spending money on a nice dinner, and making conversation with a complete stranger can send a lot of people running for the hills. Angela and Ricky both felt this way about dating when they separately joined the Y two years ago.
Both new to the Tacoma area and both with demanding careers that required them to frequently travel, they were hoping to gain new friendships. After meeting in boot camp class and being paired in the same group for a week straight, they developed a blossoming friendship that led to Ricky taking Angela on their first date to go rock climbing. Instead of them heading for the hills, they went scurrying down the aisle.
Now newlyweds, Angela and Ricky are grateful for taking the leap of faith to get connected. "Angela and I both enjoy taking Group Exercises classes together at the Y and with our friends," said Ricky. "TRX, Boot Camp and Yoga are our favorites."
When your priorities in life are to be healthy and take care of your body, the scariness of fitness seems to dissolve. Ricky and Angela are living proof of that. "I am glad I met someone who was in alignment with that way of thinking," Ricky said.
