Bremerton Family YMCA
Working with the Y through another non-profit, Skookum, Mark was a shy and limited worker. He knew that it was time for him to make a change, so he could be a happier and healthier person.
“I had to come out of my shell,” said Mark.
Mark now works at the Y, working on entering exercise class data to helping with laundry such to greeting members with a smile. It wasn’t long before Mark emerged from his quiet, reserved and nervous demeanor, to a friendly, motivated, and happy worker.
What Mark doesn’t realize is how big of an inspiration he is to the Y. He is a role model to staff and members that transformations can occur. Frowns can turn to grins and shyness can turn to happiness.
As he puts it, “anything is possible at the Y,” and he is living proof.
