When six-year-old Kellen first came to the Y he was cautious, unsure of new things and new people. Though he was nervous, Kellen was encouraged to try Winter Break Camp, and it wasn't long before he was trying new things like arts, sports, or learning about reptiles.
His proudest accomplishment was when he climbed three feet up the rock wall, conquering his fear of heights. After camp was over, Kellen joined a basketball team, where he quickly made friends and learned to be part of a team.
"I've really seen him grow," said Kellen's mom, Jackie. "From trying out new activities, learning how to play on a team, and meeting new people, his confidence has increased so much. I'm very proud of him!"
