Tacoma Center YMCA

First introduced to the Y at the age of nine, Kate accompanied her mother to a 5:45am aerobics class.

"I observed early on how important exercise was for my mother, and joined my school crosscountry team," said Kate.

After spending a summer learning how to teach fitness routines at the Y, Kate taught some of her own classes at her school. While in school, she enjoyed taking R. I. P. P. E. D.® classes and developing friendships with others members.

"What I love about the Y is the genuine sense of community and partnerships in helping people lead healthy lives and feel supported," said Kate. "I am proud to say I have grown up in the Y!"
