After retiring as the owner of an accounting practice, Judy found herself happy, but was missing something in her life.

“It didn’t take me too long to miss the people connection,” said Judy. “I knew I wanted to volunteer someplace, but I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. All I knew is that I had a good life, and I wanted to pass that on to somebody else.”

After several interviews to find where her skills would be best applied, Judy landed on coordinating the Active Older Adult social events at the Y. It wasn’t long before Judy increased her time as a volunteer, and then moved into to a staff position.

“Even when I was running my business, my favorite thing has always been to see people have fun. There is no better feeling,” said Judy. “I feel like it’s my mission to put on events that allow people to have fun.”
