John was worried that he wouldn’t make friends when he started summer camp, mostly because he was behind his peers academically.
Camp provided a place for John to develop his reading skills in a fun and safe environment. Within weeks John’s confidence grew and he started taking on new challenges and leadership roles.
“John stepped up to help younger peers without being asked and with a strong positive voice,” said camp counselor, Kara.
“I have seen a lot of growth from John” said Brian, John’s father. “He’s been more responsible and I believe that growth is going to really help him do well in school.”
