ENERGIZE YOUR TIME TOGETHER
Though our oldest son Kellen had been involved in Y programs since he was four, we didn’t get involved as a family until June 2015. At that point, we made sure to get all of our kids into all the programs the Y had to offer, but we didn’t initially begin working on ourselves together until the New Year. We had started working out separately until I joined a health challenge and Sean came alongside and joined me on our fitness journey. Ever since then, we’ve been working hard and challenging each other to be committed to our goals. We spend our workout time together in the weight room. It has been a great way to spend time together outside of our norm and support each other to be healthy while we are managing work, school, and three kids.
The best thing about the Y is that there is something for the whole family to do together. The kids have been involved in camp, judo, ballet, youth basketball, swim lessons, and so much more. Our favorite thing to do as a family is to swim. We have all grown at the Y since joining, whether it’s the kids in program, Sean and I setting a good example by staying active, or truly just growing closer as a family. The Y is so much more than a place to work out, it’s a place to belong and it’s a place we can all be together under one roof.
