When Evan first entered the YMCA Child Care Program, he needed extra coaching to improve his conflict resolution skills. Through collaboration between his parents and Y staff, a daily self-report was created to help Evan have positive conversations and be a leader to himself first.
"Evan was going through a lot of changes at home. It was really nice to have stability at Y Child Care, and it helped him grow and work on transitioning. We had great collaboration with the staff," said Briony, Evan's mother.
Evan not only enjoys asking questions and working on his communication skills with other children and staff, he also earned "Camper of the Week" because of his progress. He continually inspires smiles among the staff. YMCA Child Care provides countless opportunities for kids to become leaders at every age.
