Morgan Family YMCA
At the healthy age of 69, Carol Grisso is in better physical condition than many 20-year-olds. Last month, she flew to Cleveland, Ohio to participate in the National Senior Games, a prestigious athletic competition comprised of 19 events which draw over 11,000 competitors from 40 states across the nation. Carol's specialty? The triathlon.
Participants in the NSG triathlon are required to swim 400 meters in Lake Erie in addition to riding 20 km on a bike and completing a 5k run. While many of us tire just imagining this experience, Carol dug deep and edged out every other competitor in the 65-69 age division, emerging as the 2013 National Champion.
When she's not busy winning national championships, Carol can often be found at the Morgan Family Y, where she exercises at least three times a week, serving as a shining example of discipline and inspiring us all to challenge our perceived limitations.
