Personal training at the Y has been instrumental to the success of my weight loss.

At a stressful time in my life, I turned to food for comfort and gained a lot of weight. Fitness and health used to be a priority for me but somehow I didn’t know how to begin. I joined the Y, but everything was hard and I felt embarrassed to be there.

Last January, I began my weight loss journey by signing up for personal training sessions twice a week and was truly challenged and regained my confidence.

Paula Lazar, my trainer, has been there for me since the beginning of my journey with lots of sweat and tears, and many inches lost. She designs my workouts and records my progress, but also supports me and keeps me motivated toward my goal.

When the road feels tough she always reminds me of how far I’ve come and that “Today is a new day.”
