Upon returning home to Washington after living in Germany for three years while her husband was on active duty for the U.S Army, Brianna believed she had found her calling working for a very prominent technology company.
?My job before the Y was with a very successful corporation but also one that consistently valued their financial bottom line over the people they serve,? said Kidd.
?When my husband and I were in Germany we were also foster parents for Emergency Placement Care, which helps find temporary homes for children of military families who are in need, and I just really wanted to get back to helping make a difference.? Once Brianna was further exposed to the YMCA, and learned more about all the great things the Y does for local communities she realized it would be the perfect job option that provided her with a blend of challenging and meaningful work. ?Once I had a chance to speak with Y staff I realized that their goals to spread positivity throughout the community heavily aligned with my own,? recalled Brianna.
?I really enjoy working with our amazing team, and helping to grow our programs. You can be about as involved as you want to be here across all platforms and for that fact I can?t see myself ever feeling unfulfilled working here.?
