The first time Breanna tried out for the YMCA's gymnastics team, she didn't make the cut. She learned an age-old lesson early on in her life- defeat is only an invitation to work harder and try again. And that's exactly what she did.
Now the highest level gymnast the Y's team has had in over 10 years, she doesn't even have time to look back, as she's too busy diligently working toward her goals. On top of her regular school schedule, 16-year-old Breanna practices between 15-18 hours every week, preparing for meets and perfecting her skills.
This past March, she took first place at the USAG State meet, and she's got a busy summer scheduled, as she plans on competing at Nationals. She was even invited by USA gymnastics to be an honorary demonstrator at Congress. What's next for Breanna? She's got her sights set on a college scholarship. With determination like hers, we're guessing she'll find one.
