Antowne "A.J." G.
Tacoma Center YMCA
As a third-year Teen Late Nite participant at the Tacoma Center YMCA, Antwone (A.J.) Goolsby wanted to go to camp as young child.
“I got to go to church camp once, but I always heard great things about YMCA Camp Seymour,” says A.J.
A.J currently attends Jason Lee Middle School and has a “contagious spirit,” says Teen Director, Gary McCurty. A.J was selected as one of several Teen Late Nite participants to attend YMCA Camp Seymour on scholarship thanks to the generosity of donors.
“I made a lot of new friends and my favorite parts were the zip line and high ropes course,” said A.J.
Because of his experience at Teen Late Nite and now this past summer at camp, A.J. believes learning to work as part of a group will help him throughout life. “As I get older, I know it is going to be very important I know how to be a good team member, especially when I get a job.”
