After a particularly painful and challenging season in her life, Ann joined the Y, hoping it would help her refocus on herself and jump start her fitness goals. It was an immediately great fit. "I was accepted, welcomed, and celebrated just for being me," said Ann.
With a renovated sense of courage and deeper purpose in life, she testifies that the Y staff and community members continued to believe in her, even at a time when she didn't believe in herself. With previous experience teaching Group Exercise classes at several other gyms in the area, she applied her experience and passion to a similar role teaching yoga at the Y.
The relationships are what set the Y apart for Ann, and they're what keep her here. You can find Ann teaching yoga in the early morning hours at the University Y Student Center, where she has gone on to create meaningful relationship with students and Y members that she says "continues to bolster my spirits."
