Mel Korum Family YMCA

I started at the Mel Korum Family YMCA in October 2012 helping in the Teen Late Nite program. I quickly fell in love with the program and all that is has to offer. When I started helping in this position I did not know that the teens would be impacting me just as much as I impact them. Once I started Late I wanted to help in more areas. TG, the Teen Program Director, had an opening helping in the Recreation Room, and then a short time later I decided I also wanted to help teens stay active and healthy.

Once again, TG found me an opening teaching Pre-Teen Fitness. This quickly became my passion. Helping students at the Y is rewarding; helping them learn healthy activities and challenging their mind, body and spirit. I enjoy seeing them accomplish something they thought they never would. Throughout my time at the Y, my family and I have been a part of many other areas: Preschool Gymnastics, Child Watch and Stroller Fitness. I am striving for us to experience the Y at its fullest, so that I may be knowledgeable in every area to help share this amazing lifestyle and environment with others. I am thankful for the staff, my Teen Fitness students, fellow Stroller Fitness moms, and other members who love and encourage me to be my best.
