Our own Steve Triller shares his thoughts below about #CharlieforPrez

"I have had the privilege of knowing Charlie Davis for the last 33 years and I can say without hesitation that there is no one that I know that has given more of themselves to the YMCA than Charlie Davis.

Charlie has exemplified that the YMCA is first and foremost about people. He has made it his life’s work to cultivate relationships with staff and members alike and he has worked very hard to be the best that he can be. I saw this firsthand in the way he stayed connected with his former mentor and CEO of the YMCA, John Morgan.

John lived to be 90 years of age and it was during his last years of life that Charlie made it a part of his weekly schedule to reach out and connect with John. John and his wife Shirley had settled in at Frank Tobey Jones Retirement Center and Charlie would take John to lunch or for a ride. Having dedicated his life’s work to the Y, John had many pearls of wisdom to share from his days of growing up during the Great Depression and serving as a Navy diver during World War 2. Yes, John had a lot to share and Charlie valued their time together but Charlie was also demonstrating his appreciation and care for John and what he had meant to him and the community.

Seniors can often feel lonely and forgotten and in John’s case he had eventually also lost Shirley, his lifelong partner, and Charlie was going to do whatever he could to make sure that John felt valued. I don’t know of anyone who has cared more about people and the mission to serve than Charlie Davis and this is what makes him such an excellent choice to lead the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties."

In order to better protect our members, guests, and staff, all visitors *14 years of age and older are required to show a valid, government-issued ID. 

This policy helps us account for all people in the facility, making the YMCA a safer place for all in attendance. Community members who intend to visit the facility on a regular basis can elect to have their picture taken and stored in our database in lieu of showing picture ID during subsequent visits, but all first-time guests MUST present ID to enter the facility.

Community members and guests wishing to visit the facility are required to sign our guest waiver before entering the facility. Additionally, all minors entering the facility must have their guest waivers signed by a parent or guardian. 

*Visitors not old enough to obtain a driver's license or learner's permit may present an ASB or other accredited student council ID card for entrance.

FitPath is an appointment designed specifically for members ages 10 and older who want to have a tailored, progressive fitness plan. Our Health and Well-being staff will meet with you to discuss your goals to create a program that's right for you. 


Our certified personal trainers will use their knowledge of current research concepts, principles of sound exercise, and state-of-the-art equipment to design and implement a program tailored just for you. Contact Deb Delong at 253-906-9945.
