After receiving my degree in Sports Medicine and Physical Education, I became certified as an athletic trainer and have worked in the physical therapy/sports medicine field for 17 years. I currently have over 20 years experience. Although there are many duties and skills performed in this profession, exercise instruction has been the most important component of my career. Rehabilitation, basic daily activities, competitive sports and recreation are all guided and improved by exercise. Good overall health and fitness makes every facet of life more enjoyable. Growing up my athletic focus was dancing and swimming in which I competed from age 5 through college. During my collegiate years, I was also in a head-on car accident and had to overcome my own injuries. This has made me see how crucial exercise can be from both ends of the spectrum. Knowing that we all move and function differently and have our own unique history of aches and pains is key to individualizing workouts, as well as teaching proper techniques. Making time for some form of exercise every day can be one of the best decisions anyone can make. If you are just starting an exercise program, continuing a program after major orthopedic surgery, or an experienced exerciser wanting to try something new, I am here to help.

I believe exercise is not about a number on a scale or wearing a certain size of jeans. It’s about being able to do the things you need to do and want to do. I became a trainer because I love to help people reach their fitness goals and improve their quality of life and do the activities they enjoy.  I have been involved in the fitness industry for 20 years, teaching classes and working with all ages and fitness levels. I have seen the importance of being held accountable and setting realistic fitness goals and believe that every step forward should be celebrated.

Exercise is beneficial for any age or fitness level however "one size does not fit all". With this in mind, I take your current needs and abilities and create a comprehensive program around them. Working with populations ranging from seniors to power lifters, I provide guidance, education and motivation to help individuals reach their health and fitness goals.

In high school and college I was an active person participating in swim team, color guard, and track.  Even though I was active I still struggled with my weight.  In college I decided really get down to the nitty-gritty and get healthy.  I hired my own personal trainer who encouraged me and challenge my idea of fitness and what eating healthy really looked like. I lost the weight I needed to and started competing in triathlons. I started beating my personal records again and again. Even after a bad bike crash (that put me in urgent care after the race) I got up, hopped on my beat up bike, finished the race and placed 2nd in my age category.

I believe every individual is created unique and different!  Therefore, every individual’s fitness abilities and needs are also unique and specific to them. My goal, as a personal trainer, is to meet you at your current fitness level then create a fun, effective, and engaging program specific to your health and fitness goals.  My job is to help you be the best you can be in your body!

I have been personal training for 21 years and I enjoy it more and more as time goes on. I have a dynamic, creative, and very unique style of training that benefits clients at any level. I possess a strong background and invaluable experience in training athletes, fitness competitors, rehabilitationm and weight loss clientele. Strength training and power lifting are also in my “wheelhouse” so to speak. I take my client’s goals seriously, your success is my success and your failures are my failures.
My philosophy about fitness is simple; don’t start that which you cannot maintain. If it’s too drastic or too difficult eventually you will backslide. There are plenty of modalities these days from Cross Fit to body building. I utilize a training platform that takes things from all styles and focuses heavily on accountability and lifestyle change. Making sure I provide clients with the tools to not just succeed but to learn how to maintain the goals we accomplish together. There’s no point in doing something if you can’t keep it up after. Let me be your tour guide to a healthier, better looking you! I will keep things positive with high energy and the workouts inventive and challenging so we are constantly moving forward and never getting bored. I never met a plateau I couldn't conquer!

I learned during my time training with British Special Forces, that in order to establish physical fitness as a lasting part of your lifestyle, the training you do must be enjoyable and it must achieve results. I will design your program around you: your schedule, your fitness level, your goals and what you enjoy. A program that works and leaves you wanting more.

I have been involved in top level sports and fitness since a very early age and have a broad range of fitness and conditioning experience. My aim is to design a program for you that will make you fit for purpose, achieve your goals, and keep you enthusiastic and hungry for more. Those are the ingredients for a lifelong fitness habit. From youth sports to adults, and from competitive athletes to those who just want to be fitter and healthier, I will make your fitness journey fun and successful.
