South Wall Repairs (continued):
The South Wall Project has officially begun with scaffolding nearly complete and will be ready by end of day Friday, September 15, 2017. J.C. Richard Construction Company Inc. will be fencing off part of South 13th Street including the street parking stalls along the building's side to align with the City of Tacoma's permiting to keep everyone safe during renovation. This also prevents people from passing through or sleeping underneath the job site.
The demolition of the south wall will effectively begin Monday, September 18 and take two weeks to complete, with a proposed completion date of Monday, October 2. The rebuild of the wall will start only after the demolition is completed and the site is cleaned up. The rebuild of the south wall will take at least six weeks depending upon how much damage is present and weather conditions.
