Week 5 | July 18-22 | Galaxy Far Away

Blast off into space to explore another galaxy including stars, planets, UFOs, and alien creatures.

 

Week 6 | July 25-29 | Mythical Worlds

Follow your imagination into the world of fairies, unicorns, dragons, or maybe gnomes, ghouls, and/or goblins.

 

Week 7 | August 1-5 | Under the Big Top

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Come to the circus, laugh at the clowns, be thrilled by perilous leaps of acrobats, and marvel at everything the performers do.

Explore the land before time - the dynamic world of dinosaurs through crafts, “digs”, and more.

Week 7 | August 1-5 | Superhero / Comic Book Camp

If you were a superhero, which one would you be? Find out, and dive yourself into the comic book world. Be the hero of your own story, and show the Y your superpowers!

This camp is perfect for the athlete who enjoys a variety of sports and recreational games. Campers are taught skills and given the opportunity to compete in a variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, flag football, and more, while enjoying some favorite recreational games like dodgeball, capture the flag, and kickball.

Kids will celebrate school being out with a vacation on the beaches of Hawaii to kick off their summer.

Explore the wilderness and learn about the animal kingdom. Kids will go on nature walks, participate in jungle-themed games, and create animal arts and crafts.

 

Week 4 | July 11-15 | Pirates and Mermaids

Dive into the sea and see our center transform into an underwater paradise. Kids will create oceanic crafts, play pirate-themed games, and enjoy extra time in the water.

 

Week 5 | July 18-22 | Disney

Kids will enjoy days experiencing the multiple worlds.

 

Week 6 | July 25-29 | Jurassic Park

Kids will go back to the land before time to learn about the dinosaurs who used to roam the earth and maybe even discover some fossils.

Week 9 | August 15-19 | Space Invaders

The First Order is back. Camp is in imminent danger! Throughout the week, our campers/troopers will learn the ways of the Force, the art of the lightsaber, and how to calm their mind and trust their instincts. All these skills will be vital to help save our galaxy!

 

Week 10 | August 22-26 | Crazy Colors

The colors fly high during Crazy Colors week! Prepare to get messy as we toss, play, and make camp colorful! Splatter paint, water colors, and ultimate color capture the flag are just a few of our colorful events.

 

Week 11 | August 22-26 | Carnival

Kids will celebrate the final week of summer camp with a carnival of games/events on Friday!

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOUR CHILD ARRIVES AT CAMP

Pre-Camp Checklist
  1. Review Parent Handbook
  2. Pay any unpaid balances two weeks prior to your session
  3. Complete the camper information form that was emailed to you prior to 5pm on the Friday before camp begins
  4. Help your child pack using the daily checklist below as a guide
  5. Check-in between 8:30-9:00 AM on the first day of camp
Daily Checklist Before You Come To Camp
  1. Sack Lunch and snacks (No nut products, please)
  2. Facemask (optional)
  3. Sunscreen and hat
  4. Closed-toed shoe - No flip flops or sandals
  5. Water bottle - Labeled with camper’s name
  6. Swimsuit and towel- if in a day with splash camp or minicamp activities
  7. Small Backpack - Labeled with camper's name
  8. Weather appropriate jacket

The following items are not allowed at camp: money, I-pods, MP3 players, video games, cell phones, snacks containing nuts, chewing gum, makeup, knives, pets, fireworks, aerosol sprays and weapons of any kind. 

Any lost of damaged toys or other personal belongings brought to camp are not the responsibility of the YMCA. 

Extended Programming

AM Extended Program | 7-8:30am

PM Extended Program | 4:30-6pm

Extended programs are independent activity time that is separate from Day Camp activities that are supervised by a counselor. These time frames are available at no additional charge and with no registration required.

Potty Training

Youth ages 3-4 years old must be potty trained to participate in Itty Bitty camp.

 
 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

 
Itty Bitty Day Camp

Itty Bitty Day Camp is a four-hour program for 3 and 4-year-olds.  Activities are scaled to the camper’s younger abilities.  Staff to camper ratios are 1:7.  Campers must be potty trained.  Program Hours are 9am to 12pm.  Extended program is not available to this age group.

Mini Day Camp

Mini Day Camp is a full-day program for 5 and 6-year-olds.  Activities will be a scaled-down version of what the older campers experience, matching this age group’s development abilities.  Mini Campers will not participate in Specialty Camps but will experience much of the same activities that are offered to the older groups during Specialty Camps in a sampling form, allowing the campers to have their interest piqued and prepare them for future summers at Day Camp. Staff to camper ratios are 1:8.

Junior, Senior, and All Star Camp

Junior, Senior, and All Star Camp is a full day of fun activities for kids ages 7-12: arts and crafts, small and large group games, team builders, and daily Specialty Camps.  Campers register and are grouped according to age and the Specialty Camp of choice for the week. The staff to camper ratios are:

  • Junior Campers Ages 7 and 8 1 staff: 10 campers 
  • Senior Campers Ages 9 and 10 1 staff: 12 campers 
  • All Star Campers Ages 11 and 12 1 staff: 12 camper
Extended Care

Extended Care is provided 7–8:30am and 4:30–6pm for campers ages 5-12.  These time frames are available at no additional charge with no registration required.  Campers needing to be dropped off or picked up during these time frames will participate in independent activities or small group activities, but not within their assigned Camp Groups.  This time frame has a higher staff to camper ratio and activities will consist of board games, arts and crafts, and informal small group games often initiated, but counselor supervised, by the campers.  In the morning, Extended Program campers will be accompanied to their assigned Camp Group between 8:30 and 9am. In the afternoon the campers will be guided to the Extended Program staff at 4:30pm.  All campers must be picked up by 6pm. 

Daily Activity

Campers are placed in Camp Groups according to the registered Specialty Camp from 9am–4:15pm and will participate in activities with a counselor assigned to the group for the week. 

Specialty Camp

Specialty Camp is designed to bring additional fun to Day Camp and to provide new skills or expose campers to new experiences. The camps occur from 2-3:45pm every day. Campers in Day Camp will identify the Specialty Camp of choice upon registration. The Specialty Camp schedule changes on a week-to-week basis. Please see your Center’s summer schedule.

Those that want an opportunity to sign up just for the Specialty Camps do not have to be registered for the Day Camp session - registration will be available just for the Specialty Camp of interest.  Specialty Campers will arrive at 1:40pm and will be escorted by an assigned camp staff who will place them in the correct Specialty Camp and be responsible to prepare the Specialty Campers for pick up at 4pm.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

CIT is part of the Teen Leadership Development programs and was previously titled Summer Teen Volunteer Program.  The CIT program provides leadership camp experiences for teens 13 to 17.  Participants will be assigned to Day Camp Groups for a week, working alongside college-age Counselors with kids ages 3 to 12.  Participants will work and create friendships with teens from other schools; learn from college-age counselors; gain community service hours for school and/or college applications; gain invaluable skills working with kids and learn how to be successful in a workplace.  A two-week (does not have to be consecutive) commitment is required in addition to the training requirements.  Participants must be able to commit to Monday through Friday for each registered week.

  • Ages 13-17.  June 20 through September 2 (dates vary by start and end dates vary by Center)

Deposits are not required upon registration. You will be required to add payment information so we can draft your account on Wednesday, two weeks prior to the start of camp.

Staff discount available at 20% for staff household members.

Scholarships

Active YMCA members are eligible for scholarships.

For YMCA members currently receiving a scholarship on your membership, the same scholarship rate will be applied to your Summer Day Camp rate.

Community members are not eligible for scholarships at this time. Community members are welcomed to apply for a scholarship to join as a YMCA member. If approved, the scholarship rate will apply to your YMCA membership and Summer Day Camp rates. Learn more about scholarships and membership

Parent Communication

Camp forms and information will be sent to registered campers on or before June 11. Information will be sent to the primary parent email on the camper’s YMCA account.

Campers are assigned Camp Groups for the week or day and will experience traditional day camp activities, meet new friends, and stay active all day. Weather permitting, activities will move outside as much as possible.
