Kids Night Out Teen Leaders

Kids Night Out Leader

Kids Night Out Teen Leaders: Teens work with children and peers earning them credit that can be applied toward Teen Leadership Development program fees and special events.

If you are a self-motivated, positive teen in grades 8-12 then we want you as a Kids Night Out (KNO) Teen Leader.

From September through April, KNO is a giant sleepover once a month for youth ages 5-10 at the Mel Korum Family YMCA. KNO is also a fundraiser for teens who are registered and an active participant in any of the Teen Leadership Development programs.

Your role as a group leader, unit leader, or support staff is to help bring each KNO alive while creating a safe environment for the youth you work with. Expectations are high for our leaders to ensure they and the youth they serve are having the best experience possible.

Teens gain experience working with children and peers while earning credit that can be applied toward Teen Leadership Development program fees. Training and specific  KNO Teen Leader application is required.

Youth and Government

Youth and Government

Celebrating its 72nd year in Washington state, this non-partisan eight-month program is designed to give teens a hands-on experience running a model state legislature.

Youth and Government provides teens the opportunity to become civically engaged in an environment that is not only educational, but exciting and fun.

The program starts early Fall 2018 with weekly or every other week meetings (depending on the delegation) and culminates with the 72nd YMCA Youth Legislature early May 2019 at our state capitol in Olympia.

Join us at our kick off meeting on October 5 from 3:30-5pm!
