Empowering Women for Wellness (SNAP ED)

Program Overview

Empowering Women for Wellness is a supportive group of pregnant women and new moms coming together to learn about pregnancy nutrition, physcial activity, food budgeting, cooking tips and more! This is a four week program that meets once per week for 1.5 hours. The Y offers this evidence-based program in collaboration with MultiCare Health System's Center for Healthy Living and Health Equity.

Topics for learning and discussion include:

  • Meal Planning
  • Making Food Labels Work for You
  • Stretching Your Food Dollars
  • How to Be Physically Active During and After Pregnancy
  • Food Safety During and After Pregnancy

Program Incentive

Participants are provided a free membership to the YMCA during the duration of the program. If the participant chooses to become a member after the program's completion, the joining fee is waived.
