The Y offers swim lessons for adults of any skill level. Whether you’re an absolute beginner wanting to get into the pool for the first time or a lifelong swimmer looking to improve your technique, the Y’s swim instructors will help you develop the necessary skills for recreation, exercise, or competition.

Learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning swim, float swim and jump, push, turn, grab.

Adult | 4-5 | Stroke Introduction and Development Ages 15+ | Registration Required



Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physical activity.

Floating Beyond Fear Registration Required



Combines group discussion and pool time in a supportive environment designed to address fear of water. Learn how your body naturally interacts with water, tools for remaining calm, and floating skills.

Details:

If you often miss out on water-based activities because of fear, discomfort or avoidance, Floating Beyond Fear provides a safe and supportive environment to address your fear of water. Floating Beyond Fear is an eight-week, small group class led by facilitators who respect your process, personal story, and boundaries. It combines pool time with group discussions on how your body naturally interacts with water, tools for remaining calm, and floating skills. With the support and encouragement of those who understand your fear, you will work towards becoming confident around water.
