HIKING GROUP

Join a small group of your fellow Y members to explore scenic trails throughout the Puget Sound area. No previous hiking experience is necessary, but some routes are harder than others, so novice hikers are advised to connect with our staff to determine which routes are best for them. Meet at 6:45am at the Y and carpool to the trailhead each week. Please pack water and a sack lunch.

WALKING GROUP

Join a small group of your fellow Y members each week as we enjoy nature, exercise, and each other’s company. Lake trails are a mile long, so you can walk anywhere from one to three miles. All you need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle! Bring your strollers, children, friends, or just bring yourself! The walking group will run during the summer and will be led by a YMCA staff member. Directions will be provided at the Welcome Center closer to the start date.

Walking Group Locations

  • Mondays | Ft. Steilacoom Park
  • Thursdays | Wapato Park

Walks will begin 5 minutes past 10am at the trailhead of Lake Waughop at Ft. Steilacoom Park and near the playground at Wapato Lake. We can't wait for you to join us!
