Walking Group

September 17, 2018 10:00am - 11:00am Lakewood Family YMCA

Join a small group of your fellow Y members each week as we enjoy nature, exercise, and each other’s company. Lake trails are a mile long, so you can walk anywhere from one to three miles. All you need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle! Bring your strollers, your children, your friends, or just bring yourself! The walking group will run from May 14-September 20 and will be led by a YMCA staff member. Meet us on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am-11am! Directions will be provided at the Welcome Center.

Mondays | Ft. Steilacoom Park 
Thursdays | Wapato Park

Walks will begin 5 minutes past 10am at the trailhead of Lake Waughop at Ft. Steilacoom Park and near the playground at Wapato Lake. We can't wait for you to join us!

Summer Hiking Series

September 19, 2018 6:45am - 4:00pm Lakewood Family YMCA

Join a small group of your fellow Y members to explore scenic trails throughout the Puget Sound area. No previous hiking experience is necessary, but some routes are harder than others, so novice hikers are advised to connect with our staff to determine which routes are best for them.

Making Change Stick Workshop

September 19, 2018 6:00pm - 7:30pm Lakewood Family YMCA

If you struggle to break old habits, feel stuck in a cycle of behavior, or are contemplating change, this workshop is a great place to begin. Our Making Change Stick Workshop helps you learn the research-based process of holistic change and gives you direction on where and how to start. Leave with the tools you need to make the change you've always wanted. There is no cost to attend this workshop, but you must register.

  • Cost: Free

Creative Workshop | Sugar Skulls

September 23, 2018 3:30pm - 5:30pm Lakewood Family YMCA

In honor of National Spanish Heritage month - where we celebrate the heritage, culture, and presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans - we will be decorating Sugar Skulls! Rose from RAD Ceramics will be here to guide us through cool painting techniques. We will also be providing themed food to snack on while we paint! Come join us!

  • When: September 23 | 3:30-5:30pm
  • Ages: 15 and older
  • Cost: $25 per person
