We deeply value our active older adult population! Our goal is to provide programs and fellowship that meet your unique needs and keep you healthy in spirit, mind, and body. The Y's inclusive membership model offers active older adults access to a variety of Y programs, such as group exercise classes, personalized fitness orientations, water fitness, Life University classes and more, at no additional cost. The cost of membership is intended to represent this variety and offers you a personalized experience based on your needs.
The Y’s membership rates are established in partnership with, and approved by, our volunteer Board of Directors. We regularly conduct pricing research to test the community’s response to our pricing structure and program offerings. Our last study in 2017 demonstrated our pricing structure, along with financial assistance, was reasonable for our community.
Does the Y offer exercise classes specifically for seniors?
Yes! We offer a wide range of low impact classes, as well as classes to help build flexibility, balance, and strength. Beyond those classes, we welcome you to try any of our group exercise classes. Our highly-trained instructors are happy to help you with modifications in any class.
Do I need to register for classes?
All of our group exercise classes are drop-in. Feel free to try anything that interests you. All are welcome. Click here to view group exercise classes at a YMCA facility near you.
If you have questions concerning classes or programs, schedule a complimentary Fitness Orientation appointment to meet one-on-one with one of our Health and Well-being coaches.
What should I bring to class?
Wear comfortable attire that's easy to move in and athletic shoes. Be sure to bring a water bottle and you may want to healthy snack after class.
I have some extra time and would love to give back to my community. Does the Y have volunteer opportunities?
For nearly 175 years, the Y has relied on volunteers to help us build stronger communities by investing in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. We are always looking for volunteers. Click here to view volunteer opportunities and apply.
“Participating at the Y has been life-changing. I have so much energy, and I sleep better and have gone off all of my meds."
