100% ID Check

Haselwood Family Y ID Policy

100% ID CHECK ALWAYS IN EFFECT

In order to better protect our members, guests, and staff, all visitors *14 years of age and older are required to show a valid, government-issued ID.

This policy helps us account for all people in the facility, making the YMCA a safer place for all in attendance. Community members who intend to visit the facility on a regular basis can elect to have their picture taken and stored in our database in lieu of showing picture ID during subsequent visits, but all first-time guests MUST present ID to enter the facility.

*Visitors not old enough to obtain a driver's license or learner's permit may present an ASB or other accredited student council ID card for entrance.

Guest Policy & Waiver

Community members and guests wishing to visit the facility are required to sign our guest waiver before entering the facility. Additionally, all minors entering the facility must have their guest waivers signed by a parent or guardian.

Youth Recreational Swim Checks

The Haselwood Family YMCA employs a youth swim check practice, which allows our lifeguards and aquatic staff to quickly and accurately determine each youth's swim level. The tiered levels are color-coded to a corresponding band color - red, yellow, or green - and determine into what areas of the aquatic center each swimmer can go.

Youth will have their swim level checked upon their first visit to the facility and the band must be worn at all times while in the aquatic center unless the child is participating in a YMCA group swim lesson.

This practice applies to all youth recreational swimmers regardless whether the child is a community member, YMCA member, or YMCA swim lesson participant.

Weather and Class Cancellation Policy

Inclement Weather Policy
The Haselwood YMCA makes every effort possible to keep the Y and its programs running during periods of inclement weather. Operating decisions are based on weather alerts, road and school closings and the ability of the YMCA staff and members to get to and from the Y, and operate the facility safely.

For All Classes (Youth and Adult) Cancellation Policy:

  • If the Central Kitsap School District has a delayed start due to inclement weather
    • We will cancel all morning classes
    • A decision regarding afternoon and evening classes will be determined by 10am by the Haselwood YMCA executive and YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties' Chief Operating Officer.
  • A decision will be made at opening for Saturday and Sunday classes.

Please feel free to contact our Welcome Center at 360-698-9622 for any questions on class cancellations or modification in operating hours for inclement weather.

Stay updated with changes in operation when inclement weather is in the forecast. Visit our  Inclement Weather page or Facebook.
