    Abe Lupkin

    Abe Lupkin comes to the YMCA with a diverse athletic background in high school and collegiate coaching, and as an athlete having been a high school state champion wrestler and baseball player. He spent 8 years as an assistant baseball coach at Olympic College where he planned/implemented the strength and conditioning programs for the team. He also spent 6 years as the head baseball coach for the Tumwater Brewers college summer baseball team.Since becoming a part of the YMCA in 2009, Abe has spent time as a fitness instructor and Health and Well-being Coach. In addition to his diverse fitness background he is an avid participant in the sport of triathlons and is a member of the West Sound Triathlon Club. Abe is always looking for the next challenge in life and is excited to help you face yours.

    I've been in the fitness field since 1992. I started out as a competitive powerlifter and a bodybuilder. In 2004 and 2008 I won 1st place in Lightweight and overall champion in the Mr. Fort Lewis competition. I spent ten years working with the U.S. Navy as a Lead Fitness Coordinator helping the military stay healthy and fit for mission readiness. I've always had the love and passion for fitness and enjoy passing my knowledge onto others. My goal as a personal trainer is to help you step out of your comfort zone and challenge your body through a variety of fitness programs that are safe, fun, and effective. I will help you achieve results with challenging workouts, follow ups and proper nutritional guidance. Strong mind. Strong body. Strong core.

    I have been involved in top level sports and fitness since a very early age and have a broad range of fitness and conditioning experience.     Courteney Suiter

    My name is Courteney. I am a mother and a health enthusiast; however, I have not always been this way. I became interested in health and fitness toward the end of my undergraduate studies. I began turning my life completely around for the better, and I started seeking out natural and holistic alternatives to physical and emotional ailments. Eventually, I got to a point where I wanted to serve others with the information I had learned. I had contemplated changing my major during this time but realized that my emphasis in behavioral modification assisted in helping my clients achieve the goals they sought after. Since then, I have continued to pursue my graduate degree, became certified in personal training, and I am currently re-certifying in nutrition. Most of my clients have sought and achieved weight loss, mobility and flexibility, and mass building goals. I am truly passionate about the work that I do and you will see this when you meet with me. Nothing motivates me more than being able to see my clients progress toward their goals and learn to live happier and healthier lives.

I have had the opportunity to instruct group classes, Women on Weights and Prenatal Fitness and I've worked as a health and well-being coach at the Haselwood Family YMCA. My focus is to pass on my excitement and love for fitness to each client as they work toward reaching their goals with knowledge, discipline, and encouragement through a personalized training program.     I have been personal training for 21 years and I enjoy it more and more as time goes on. I have a dynamic, creative, and very unique style of training that benefits clients at any level. Strength training and power lifting are also in my “wheelhouse” so to speak. I take my client’s goals seriously, your success is my success and your failures are my failures.
    My philosophy about fitness is simple; don’t start that which you cannot maintain. If it’s too drastic or too difficult eventually you will backslide. There are plenty of modalities these days from Crossfit to body building. I utilize a training platform that takes things from all styles and focuses heavily on accountability and lifestyle change. Making sure I provide clients with the tools to not just succeed but to learn how to maintain the goals we accomplish together. There’s no point in doing something if you can’t keep it up after.
