The 1883 Legacy Club
Strengthen future generations.
Increase your impact.
The 1883 Legacy Club was created to honor future-thinking friends of the Y, friends who demonstrate their commitment to our mission by ensuring their support will continue even after their lifetime. It’s our way to thank and recognize a truly exceptional group of individuals who will play a key role in strengthening our programs for the next generation through their planned future gifts.
You, too, can play a crucial role. Please consider joining the 1883 Legacy Club!
When you name the Y as a beneficiary of your retirement assets, life insurance policy, will, living trust, or financial accounts, you become a unique part of a global legacy dedicated to nurturing and enriching the lives of young and old worldwide. What began in London in 1844 with YMCA founder George Williams reaching out to help those in need, later stretched to the Pacific Northwest, where the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties was founded in 1883. Today, members of our 1883 Legacy Club are building their own legacies of commitment to their neighbors in our community, ensuring the crucial work of the Y continues and expands for generations to come.
It’s about commitment and hope for the future
The 1883 Legacy Club is a group of like-minded people dedicated to investing in community members, through all seasons of life. Everyone matters. And every planned future gift – no matter the size – will make a difference. Together, the members share a powerful common vision – opportunities for all to learn, grow, and thrive.
It’s about inspiration and increasing impact
Many of the 1883 Legacy Club members act as ambassadors by allowing us to share with others why they decided to remember the Y in their will or other estate planning documents. Their stories, like pebbles tossed in water, have a remarkable ripple effect of inspiring others to follow their example and do the same.
