OPERATING HOURS | April 1

We heard that you want expanded operating hours and we're adjusting to better serve you.

  • Bremerton Y, Gordon Y, Haselwood Y, Lakewood Y, Mel Korum Y, Morgan Y, Tacoma Center Y, Tom Taylor Y now open at 5am Monday through Friday, which includes the use of locker rooms and showers.
  • University Y now closes at 8pm Monday through Friday. Saturday hours remain the same, 7am-1pm.
  • Tacoma Center Y is now open 5-10:30am and 3-7pm and includes the use of locker rooms and showers.  Tacoma Center remains closed Saturday and Sunday.
  • Saturday hours are 6am-1pm at all locations except for the University Y and Tacoma Center.
  • All community centers are closed on Sunday.

LOCKER ROOMS AND SHOWERS OPEN | April 1

You can now shower before and after using the pool and after your workout! Locker rooms and showers are available April 1.

  • Bring your own towel and lock, and be prepared to use our gym wipes to wipe down spaces before and after every use.
  • Maintain six feet between you and others in the locker room.
  • All showers include privacy barriers and will be open.

YMCA staff are committed to regular cleaning throughout the day to maintain a healthy environment for everyone.

POOLS OPEN EARLIER AND ELIMINATE RESERVATION REQUIREMENT | April 5

Our pools are opening earlier to better serve you. Pool hours will match operating hours listed above beginning April 5, which includes the use of locker rooms and showers. Pools will stay open until 15 minutes prior to the building closing.

  • Pools at Bremerton Y, Gordon Y, Haselwood Y, Lakewood Y, Mel Korum Y, Morgan Y, and Tom Taylor Y are opening at 5am Monday through Friday beginning April 5, which includes the use of locker rooms and showers. Pools at these centers will open on Saturdays at 6am.
  • Tacoma Center Y will open at 5am and will include the use of locker rooms and showers. Tacoma Center remains closed Saturday and Sunday.
  • Saturday hours are 6am-1pm at all locations except for the University Y and Tacoma Center.
  • All community centers are closed on Sunday.

Drop-in for lap swimming and open swim, reservations are no longer required. Lap lanes are open to multiple swimmers, but swimmers must maintain six feet of distance. Steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and lazy rivers remain closed.

COURTS OPEN FOR PICK-UP BASKETBALL | April 5

We are excited to see our ballers! Check the schedule for pick-up basketball times beginning April 5. Reservations are not required. Masks must be work at all times, including while actively playing basketball.

Pick-up basketball is currently available at University Y with a reservation. Reservations will not be required as of April 5 at University Y.

COURT SPORTS AVAILABLE FOR DROP-IN | April 5

Racquetball, handball, and/or pickleball are available at Lakewood Y, Mel Korum Y, Tacoma Center Y, and Tom Taylor Y. Reservations will no longer be required beginning April 5. Court sports will continue to expand at all locations. Visit ymcapkc.org/schedules to find specific offerings at your local Y.

FAMILY ADVENTURES CONTINUE

Family Adventures at YMCA Camp Seymour are available for all Y members at no additional cost with a reservation.

MASKS OFF OUTSIDE

Masks may be taken off while engaged in physical activity in outdoor fitness classes.

Youth Sports participants may remove masks while actively engaged in an officiated game. Masks must be worn while on the sideline and at all times during practices. All adults must wear masks at all times, including parents, coaches, and officials.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Masks are required for everyone ages 5 and older while inside the Y and while engaged in physical activity, including workouts, classes, and court sports.
  • Maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and others.
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Use gym wipes to wipe down equipment, lockers, and other frequently touched surfaces before and after each use.
